Descendants of Robert Edgar
Robert Edgar and his wife Catherine lived near Portadown in Northern Ireland. Robert had been a sailor and served throughout the Napoleonic wars, he had served on HMS Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar, and was there when Lord Nelson died in 1805. In 1822 Robert, Catherine and their sons left Ireland for Canada arriving at the Port of Quebec. They set up home in Sherrington Parish which is about thirty miles south of Montreal, just north of the New York State border.
